House museum of  Jalil Mamedguluzadeh

House museum of  Jalil Mamedguluzadeh, the Azerbaijan people ҆s great writer, mighty dramatist, people ҆s teacher, public figure, consistent democrat, publicist, selfless journalist, founder and editor diring 25 years of  illustrated satirical magazine “ Molla Nasreddin” first in the East, has been established in 1978 assording to proper resolution of Azerbaijan  State and Government and exists in Baku at the house where he lived and performed (1921-1932).

Building where located the museum is historical, architectural and cultural monument pertaining to the end of 19th  century and beginning of 20th century. Exposition of writerʼ s house museum had been opened on 28th  December , 1994. The President of Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Heydar Aliyev, government and state officials, distinguished writers, cultural and art workers had taken part in the opening ceremony.

The Exposition of Museum with total area of 85 square metre, has been placed at the area of 96 square metre and consists of 5 rooms. First room – is rich with materials reflecting childhood, youth and education period, school activities, first creative steps and social environment of the writer. Second room – is guest room on memorial viewpoint. As in all other rooms, memoriality had been mainly preserved. In this room, along with home things belonged to Jalil Mamedguluzadehʼs family, there are materials reflecting first

Journalist activities and story creative works of the writer. There are also descriptive art  works of great painters on Jalil Mamedguluzadehʼs literary  works.Third room – is bedroom. In this room, it is demonstrated personal belongings of  the writer and his wife and materials regarding family life. Fourth room – is rich with historical documents, photos, descriptive works, posters and other materials reflecting dramaturgy and literary works of the  writer, Tbilisi and Tabriz period of “Molla Nasreddin” magazine.

Fifth room – is working room of the writer , also editorial room of “Molla Nasreddin” magazine. Materials demonstrated in this room cover 1922-1932 years of  writerʼs life and creative works. Also, performance of  “Molla Nasreddin” magazine in this period, environment of the writer, Molla Nasreddin followers, materials in connection with investigators of  Jalil Mamedguluzadeh has been reflected in this room.

Also in this room, visitors may be acquainted with map, which reflects wordwide fame of Jalil Mamedguluzadeh. Beginning from the date when museum opened,  more than 5000 exhibits showing life and literary activities of the writer and Molla Nasreddin followers had been collected in the main collection fund of the museum. Most of them are composed from “Molla Nasreddin” magazine, satirical magazines ( “Zanbur” , “Tuti” , “Agrab” and etc.) editer in Baku under influence of  Molla Nasreddin, personal  belongings of the writer and his literature works . More than 500 exhibits are demonstrated in the exposition of the museum.The Museum performs regularly in the sphere of collection , study and propaqanda of life and literary activity heritage of Jalil Mamedguluzadeh and other Molla Nasreddin followers.
