The Azerbaijani delegation will attend the 25th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to be held in September 1-7, 2019, in Kyoto, Japan
In September 1-7, 2019, Kyoto (Japan) will host the 25th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM). This important meeting organised every three years since 1948 brings together representatives of the world museum community to discuss common topics and expand international cooperation.
This year, the conference conducted under the motto “Museums as Cultural Hubs: the Future of Traditions” will see a large number of museum specialists from around the world. Among them, 19 representatives of the ICOM National Committee of Azerbaijan, including its five speakers.
Besides, the chairperson of ICOM Azerbaijan Shirin Melikova was personally invited to hold one of the mentoring sessions for young museum professionals at the conference. Thus, in addition to her presentation at the conference, she will also hold a session on the theme of museum management, where she is going to share her work experience with young museum professionals.
Delegates of the conference will also elect the members of the ICOM Executive Board. Among the candidates, Alla Bayramova, director of the Azerbaijan State Museum of Musical Culture nominated by ICOM Azerbaijan.
