Culture's longest Night in the world returns – Museum Night 2022 «The Power of Museum»

On 18 May Azerbaijan National Museum of Art presents a large-scale multimedia project organized by  the Ministry for Culture of Azerbaijan Republic in the framework of International Museum Day  celebrated annually by International Council of Museums (ICOM).
 
 International Day of Museums 2022 edition which is intended to realize the potential of museums for positive changes in its communities is held in three main directions as a sustainable development, innovations in the sphere of a digitization and availability, formation of society through educational projects. Being strategic partners of United Nations in realization of aims in the sphere of a sustainable development, the museums contribute to the achievement of a wide range of purposes, such as a development of a social economics and dissemination of scientific information about ecological problems.
 
After a two-year break happened because of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) a traditional international action “Museum Night” returns and will be held in the new reality of digital technologies formats. Farhad Farzaliyev, Gunel Ravilova, Lyudmila Kristeseva and other artists and authors will present the multimedia installations, digital presentations and art works on sustainability and gender issues.
 
The open air concert of Baku Chamber Orchestra conducted by Honorary artist of Azerbaijan Fuad Ibrahimov will perform for the first time in Baku and the residents and guests of the city could enjoy of a special a musical programme where the music and the magical world of the genius People’s artist Sattar Bahlulzadeh come into contact and are converted into a total installation.

The capabilities of the latest modern technologies take the standard audience beyond the usual framework, showing a different level of perception of museum exhibits. Azerbaijan National Museum of Art, being the leading museum of the republic, invites visitors on a journey through new forms of innovation conceptions into the world of rich museum collection and exhibition projects on various topics and from different periods of the museum history.

The main project partner is the Embassy of Sweden in Azerbaijan, who presents the multimedia project of Azerbaijani-Swedish art dialogue under curatorship of Konul Rafiyeva.

The events of the multimedia action Night of Museums-2022 will be covered on the digital platform of the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan museum.az.
