On May 19, 2021, on the occasion of International Museum Day, ICOM Pakistan National Committee and KUMID Turkey brought together specialists in the museum field to exchange experience in museum management and preserving cultural heritage.
The first session of the conference was organized by the ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee. In accordance with the International Museum Day’s theme of this year The Future of Museums: Recover and Reimagine, the session presented papers on Digital Transformation, Social Relevance and Sustainability, and New Business Models.
Dr Shirin Melikova, Director of Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, Chair of ICOM Azerbaijan National Committee, Amina Melikova, Director of Icherisheher Museum Center, Farah Alakbarli, Curator at YARAT Contemporary Art Space, Awais Malik, General Manager of National History Museum, Lahore, Faizul Latif Chowdhury, former General Director of Bangladesh National Museum, member of Executive Board of ICOM Bangladesh, and Pankaj Protim Bordoloi, Deputy Director at President House Museum in New Delhi delivered speeches at the event.
Group sessions of the conference represented by participants from 32 countries, including ICOM NCs, different cultural organizations, and universities will run until November.
